The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,538,385.
This month's figure reflects a 15.2 percent decrease, or a $455,011 decrease, from October 2015.
October represents the first month of the 2017 fiscal year. Calendar year-to-date sales tax revenues are down 18.31 percent from the same time period ending in 2015.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; October collection is based on August sales.
