[ARCHIVED] Annual flu shots now available at Midland Health Department

The City of Midland's Health & Senior Services Division is offering a flu vaccination clinic for all ages.

Health & Senior Services, located at 3303 West Illinois Ave. in the Kingsway Mall, is administering the flu shots from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. - noon on Fridays. The vaccine is available for individuals who are 6 months of age and up, and a high-dose vaccine is available for individuals who are 65 years and older. The division accepts private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare.

The annual flu vaccine can prevent sickness, visits to the doctor or hospital, or even death from influenza.

Protection lasts throughout the flu season, which usually peaks in January or February and continues into the spring. Individuals are encouraged to talk with their healthcare provider or pharmacist about which flu vaccine is recommended for them.
