The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,782,790. This month's figure reflects a .53 percent decrease, or a $14,962 decrease, from December 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2016-2017 is down 11.47 percent, or a $1,088,419 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $8,397,850.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; December collection is based on October sales.
