The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $3,654,107. This month's figure reflects a 17.42 percent decrease, or a $771,021 decrease, from February 2016.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2016-2017 is down 11.01 percent, or a $1,841,523 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $14,890,559.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; February collection is based on December sales.
