The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,857,367. This month's figure reflects a 7.91 percent increase, or a $209,345 increase, from March 2016.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2016-2017 is down 8.42 percent, or a $1,632,178 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $17,747,926.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; March collection is based on January sales.
