[ARCHIVED] Midland Fire Department "filling the boot" to fight muscular dystrophy

The Midland Fire Department will kick off its annual Fill the Boot campaign on April 3 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.


Firefighters and volunteers will be stationed at four locations around Midland to collect donations in fire boots between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, April 3; Wednesday, April 5 and Friday, April 7. The intersection locations are:


- Midkiff Road and Wadley Avenue

- Midland Drive and Loop 250

- Midland Drive and Andrews Highway

- Garfield Street and Golf Course Road


 The Fill the Boot campaign is conducted across the nation by firefighters, who have become vital sponsors for the MDA. Midland firefighters have raised more than $108,000 each of the last two years and the department aims to raise $110,000 this year.
