A 15-year-old female was declared deceased following a pedestrian accident on East Interstate 20 Tuesday evening.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the fatal accident at approximately 5:49 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Interstate 20, near the intersection of South Lamesa Road.
The investigation into the accident revealed that the 15-year-old female was running south across the westbound lanes of East Interstate 20 when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in the inside lane and was shortly after struck by a second vehicle. The juvenile was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased shortly after. The next of kin has been notified and the investigation into the accident is ongoing. No citations or charges have been issued.
