The City of Midland has collected this month’s sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller’s Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $3,276,718. This month’s figure reflects a 27.52 percent increase, or a $707,106 increase, from July 2016.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2016-2017 is down 1.16 percent, or a $352,890 decrease, from last year’s totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $29,947,801.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; July collection is based on May sales.
