The Midland Fire Department is the grateful recipient of a donation from Legacy Realtors.
On Thursday, November 9, Legacy Realtors will present the Midland Fire Association with a check for approximately $3,000 to purchase for bullet-proof vests. The Fire Department identified a need for bullet-proof vests for their first-responder EMS personnel.
Legacy Realtors became motivated to help after hearing a Fire Department presentation about civilian response to an active shooter scenario. “We provide community education because it’s the right thing to do, not because we’re looking for a reward,” said Interim Fire Chief Charles Blumenauer. “We were touched that Legacy felt moved to give back in this way.”
The Midland Fire Department is seeking to equip each of its seven ambulances with two bullet-proof vests. The Legacy donation will allow the Department to acquire at least one vest for each ambulance.
The check presentation will take place 8:45 AM at the offices of Legacy Realtors, 4400 N. Big Spring St.
