[ARCHIVED] Blumenauer Selected for Fire Chief

Charles Blumenauer has been named Fire Chief for the Midland Fire Department (MFD).

Blumenauer is a 20-year veteran of the department and has been serving as Interim Fire Chief since June of this year. He experience with MFD spans multiple divisions including Community Health Paramedic Division, Quality Assurance, and fire station design teams.

“I am honored to be chosen as the newest Fire Chief of the Midland Fire Department. I truly love this Department and this City,” said Blumenauer. “My goal for the Midland Fire Department is to continue our focus on training and education, compassionate care, and professional service,” he added.  

Blumenauer holds State certifications as a licensed paramedic, EMS Instructor, Texas Commission on Fire Protection Master Firefighter, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II and is also a graduate of the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy. He earned an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology as well as a Bachelors of Organizational Management, each from Midland College. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Administration at Sul Ross State University.
