The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has informed the City of Midland of updates to income guidelines that will allow more families to qualify for housing assistance programs.
The new HUD-approved median family income for Midland is $70,200 for a family of four, which is an increase of 7.8 percent over the previous income of $65,100. These income guidelines are used to qualify people for programs such as the City of Midland’s Community Development Block Grant program. The CDBG program can directly assist households or individuals with income under 80 percent of the median, meaning a four person household cannot have more than $54,650 annual income under the new guidelines.
